Ysterberg Sokket (Imp RSA) 88%


Whilst visiting Klaas Van Waveren of Ysterberg Kennels, I saw the toughest and most powerful dog, his name was Vegter III. He had a head like a masonery block, and the outline of a Brahma Bull; a truly massive dog. His job around the farm was to accompany his owner amongst the wild cattle. If one were to charge (as they regularly do to protect their young) he would pull the charging beast to the ground.

The dogs on the farm had to battle all sorts of wild animals, which walked onto his property from the neighbouring Kruger National Park.

Sokket is a very serious customer, and an incredibly active and alert dog.  He has a lot of work drive, something he often passes on to his pups.

Sokket has been used to hunt wild boar in Australia, holding them even after being opened up by their tusks, also as a finishing dog for dangerous wounded animals.  Sokket has very strong protective instincts which he has used on many occasions, something he also passes on to his pups.

Sokket is one of the last pure Ysterberg sons off the influential and impressive Ysterberg Vegter III.  His mother was the last producing daughter of Ysterberg Goliat, said to be the most impressive and powerful Boerboel ever produced making Sokket Goliat’s closest living relative.

I believe this is why Sokket is producing a wide variety of dogs that excel in difficult areas such as; wild boar hunting, cattle herding, working unruly bulls and protection work.  He also has produced  many fine family pet guardians.

Sokket has a propensity a high number of 85% + dogs.  His semen has been shipped back to Africa and is also being used in the UK and Europe.

In the future we feel he will be looked back upon as a very influential sire in the Boerboel world.
